Tutorial: How to Create and Customize Clips on Twitch

Twitch allows you to capture and share the most exciting moments of your streams with the Clip feature. In this tutorial, we’ll guide you through the process of creating clips, managing them in the Clips Manager, and using the Clip Editor to enhance and share your best stream moments on social media platforms.

Creating Clips

  1. Accessing the Clip Creator:
    • Click on the clip icon during a live stream or past broadcast.
    • On mobile, tap the video to reveal the clip icon.
  2. Adjust Clip Length:
    • In the clip creator tab, use the slider under the video tab to set the desired clip length, up to 60 seconds.
  3. Title and Publish:
    • Choose the perfect moment, give your clip a title, and click “Publish.”
  4. Congratulations!
    • Your clip is now published, and you’ll receive a clip URL to share.

Managing Clips in the Clips Manager

  1. Access the Clips Manager:
    • Navigate to the Clips Manager in the Creator Dashboard.
  2. Clip Management Options:
    • Watch, download, share, edit, and delete your clips.

Using the Clip Editor

The Clip Editor allows you to create engaging social media videos from your clips. Follow these steps:

  1. Access the Clip Editor:
    • Visit your Creator Dashboard.
    • Click on Content -> Clips.
    • Select a clip and click “Edit & Share Clip” to launch the Clip Editor modal.
  2. Customize Your Clip:
    • Choose between full screen or split-screen layouts.
    • Select frames by adjusting the capture range.
    • Add your Twitch channel name to promote your streams.
  3. Editing Process:
    • Preview your clip on the left side of the editor.
    • Save selection settings for future use.
    • Toggle the channel name display on/off.
  4. Sharing Options:
    • Download your edited clip for sharing on social media.
    • Share directly to YouTube Shorts or TikTok if accounts are connected.
    • Customize titles and descriptions for optimal visibility.
  5. Managing Edited Clips:
    • Find your edited clip in the Clip Manager beneath the original.
    • Re-share or download the edited version.
