Tutorial: How to use MixItUp Streaming Bot for Twitch Ad Alerts

In this tutorial, we’ll delve into the usage of MixItUP Streaming Bot for Twitch Ad Alerts, specifically focusing on creating three different types of Ad Alert Notifications for your chat.

Alert for Twitch Channel Ad Upcoming:

To initiate an alert for an upcoming Twitch Channel ad, follow these steps:

  1. Download, Install, and Setup MixItUp Streaming Bot.
  2. Click the Menu (hamburger icon) in the upper left-hand corner.
  1. Navigate to Events and find “Twitch Channel Ad Upcoming,” then click Add Command.
  1. In the Action Drop-down, choose Chat Message and click the plus icon to add.
  2. Customize your chat message; an example is provided below.
  1. Ad Alert! Upcoming Ad Break in the next $adnextminutes Minutes, lasting for $adnextduration.
    • $adnextminutes: Time until the ad break (e.g., 5 minutes).
    • $adnextduration: Duration of the ad break (e.g., 60 seconds).
  2. Click Save.

Ad Break Starting Alert:

For an alert when the ad break is starting, use the following steps:

  1. Click the Menu icon in the upper left-hand corner.
  2. Go to Events and find “Twitch Channel Ad Started,” then click Add Command.
  1. In the Action Drop-down, select Chat Message and click the plus icon to add.
  2. Customize your chat message; an example is provided below.vbnet
  1. Attention, our $adduration Minute Ad Break is now starting. Feel free to subscribe to bypass ads.
    • $adduration: Length of the ad break.
  2. Click Save.

Ad Break Completed Alert:

To create an alert for when the ad break is completed, use these steps:

  1. Click the Menu icon in the upper left-hand corner.
  2. Go to Events and find “Twitch Channel Ad Ended,” then click Add Command.
  1. In the Action Drop-down, select Chat Message and click the plus icon to add.
  2. Customize your chat message; an example is provided below.
  1. Our $adduration Minute Ad Break is now finished. Subscribe to remove ads for a better viewing experience.
    • $adduration: Length of ads that were played.
  2. Click Save.

Optional: Twitch Announcement Substitution:

If your chat is busy, consider using Twitch Announcement instead of Chat Message for alerts:

  1. Click the Menu icon in the upper left-hand corner.
  2. Go to Events, find the desired event, and click Add Command (or edit an existing alert).
  3. In the Action Drop-down, select Twitch and click the plus icon to add.
  4. In the Type Field, choose “Send chat Announcement.”
  1. Follow the steps above for Chat Message, including Special Identifiers.
  2. Select a color for your chat or leave it as the primary color.
  3. Click Save.
