Note: Before you begin, make sure you have a StreamElements account and have OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) or a similar streaming software already set up for your streaming needs.

Step 1: Log in to StreamElements

  1. Visit the StreamElements website (https://streamelements.com/).
  2. Log in to your StreamElements account. If you don’t have one, you can sign up for free.

Step 2: Set Up Your Donation Settings

  1. Once you’re logged in, click on “Dashboard” in the top menu.
  2. In the Dashboard, you’ll see the “Donation Settings” on the left side. Click on it.
  3. You’ll be taken to the Donation Settings page. Here, you can configure your tipping options. Start by clicking “Donation Settings.”
  4. Configure your donation settings according to your preferences. You can choose your currency, set a minimum tip amount, and select your preferred payment processor (usually PayPal or a similar platform).

Step 3: Create a Tip Page

  1. After configuring your donation settings, navigate to the “Tip Page” tab on the left.
  2. You can customize your tip page by adding a title, description, and an image that represents your channel. This page will be where viewers can make donations to you.
  3. You can also set up donation goals and incentives to encourage more donations.
  4. Click the “Save Settings” button to save your changes.

Step 4: Get Your Tip Page URL

  1. After saving your tip page settings, you’ll receive a URL for your tip page. This URL is where viewers can go to make donations. You can share this URL on your stream and social media.

Step 5: Set Up Alert Notifications

  1. To be notified when you receive donations, navigate to the “Alerts” tab on the left.
  2. Here, you can customize the alert notifications for different donation amounts. You can choose animations, sounds, and other visual effects to make your stream more engaging.
  3. After configuring your alert settings, click the “Save Settings” button.

Step 6: Add Donation Alerts to Your Streaming Software

  1. If you’re using OBS or another streaming software, you’ll need to add the donation alert source to your scene.
  2. In your streaming software, create a new source and select “Browser Source” or a similar option.
  3. You’ll be prompted to enter the URL of your StreamElements tip page in the settings. This will overlay your alert notifications on your stream.
  4. Customize the dimensions and position of the alert notifications on your stream.

Step 7: Start Streaming and Promote Your Tip Page

  1. Once you’ve completed the setup, start your streaming session and encourage your viewers to visit your tip page and support your channel.
  2. Whenever someone makes a donation, you’ll receive an alert notification on your stream.

Step 8: Monitor and Manage Donations

  1. You can track and manage your donations in the StreamElements Dashboard under the “Donation History” tab.
  2. Withdraw your earnings to your linked payment account when you’re ready.

That’s it! You’ve successfully set up tipping in StreamElements. Remember to engage with your viewers, thank them for their support, and keep your audience entertained during your streams. This will help encourage more tips and donations.
