Tutorial: How to setup a donation goal in Streamlabs
Donation goals serve as an effective means to engage your viewers and demonstrate that their contributions are making a direct impact on your stream. They can be a great way to involve your audience in supporting you and your content. Here’s a detailed guide on how to set up and customize donation goals for your stream:
Step 1: Setting up Your Donation Goal
- To initiate the process, visit the donation goal page at this link: Streamlabs Donation Goal Page.
- Start by providing the necessary information for your donation goal:
- Enter the title for your donation goal, which will be displayed above the goal bar (e.g., “Server bill for October”).
- Specify your desired goal amount. The bar will be full when the contributions reach this amount.
- If you have already collected some donations towards your goal, you can enter a starting amount.
- Determine an end date in the “End After” box. This sets the deadline for your goal (make sure to input the full date format, such as “07/21/2016”).
- Once you’ve filled in all the required details, click the prominent green “Start Donation Goal” button to initiate your goal.
Step 2: Customizing the Donation Goal Bar
- To personalize your donation goal, you can customize the goal bar by following these steps:
- Click the “Donation Goal Widget” button or navigate to Streamlabs Donation Goal Widget Settings.
- In this section, you can modify the layout, choosing between the standard or condensed options, and adjust the color scheme to your liking.
- For font selection, you have the flexibility to use any font available on Google Fonts.
- After you’ve made the desired customizations in the preview, ensure you save your settings by pressing the appropriate button. This will preserve your chosen appearance and style.
Step 3: Adding the Donation Goal Widget to Your Stream
- Once you’ve tailored your donation goal widget to your preferences, you’ll need to add it to your stream software:
- Copy the provided link at the top of the customization page.
- Open your streaming software and insert the copied link into the relevant widget or overlay area. This will display the donation goal bar in your stream, allowing your viewers to track your progress in real-time.
Note: As of now, it’s important to be aware that existing donation goals cannot be edited directly. If you wish to make changes to an ongoing goal, you’ll need to conclude the current goal and set a starting amount for a new one to continue tracking your progress.
By following these steps, you can effectively engage your viewers, create transparency about how their donations are being utilized, and enhance the overall viewer experience during your streams.
