Tutorial: How to Create a Twitch Clip Command with Discord Integration using Mixitup Bot

If you’re looking to enhance your Twitch streaming experience by automatically sharing clips in your Discord server, you’re in the right place. In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through the steps to set up a Twitch Clip command with Discord integration using Mixitup Bot. This will allow you to share your best streaming moments with your Discord community effortlessly.

Prerequisites

Before we get started, make sure you have Mixitup Bot installed and configured with your Twitch credentials. If you haven’t done this yet, visit the Mixitup Bot website and follow their installation and setup instructions.

Setting Up Discord Integration

  1. Access Mixitup Bot Dashboard:
    • Click the menu button within the Mixitup Bot application.
  2. Access Services:
    • Click on “Services” in the menu to navigate to the services section.
  3. Discord Login:
    • Click on “Login for Discord.”
    • You’ll be prompted to log in to your Discord account.
  4. Select a Discord Server:
    • After logging in, you’ll be asked to select a Discord server where Mixitup Bot will be assigned. If you don’t have a server set up yet, make sure to create one and designate a channel for where you want your clips to be posted.

Creating the Clip Command

  1. Access Mixitup Bot Dashboard:
    • Click the menu button in the upper left-hand corner to return to the main dashboard.
  2. Create a New Command:
    • Click on “Commands” to access the command configuration.
  1. Add a New Command:
    • Click “New Command.”
  2. Configure the Command:
    • In the “Name” field, type “clip.”
    • In the “Chat trigger command” field, choose the trigger command you want to use (e.g., “Clip”).
  1. Set Up Twitch Action:
    • In the “Actions” dropdown, select “Twitch” and click the plus button.
  2. Select Clip Type:
    • In the “Type” dropdown, find and select “Clip.”
    • You can include a delay if desired.
    • You can choose whether to show the clip in chat.

Discord Integration

  1. Link to Discord:
    • In the “Actions” dropdown, select “Discord.”
    • This action will send a message to a specific Discord channel.
  2. Choose Discord Channel:
    • In the “Channel” dropdown, select the Discord channel where you want the clips to be posted. For example, you can choose “Twich Clips” for your Discord server.
  3. Customize the Chat Message:
    • In the “Chat message” field, you need to include the special identifier from the clip command, which is “$clipurl.” You can get creative with the message. For example: “$username captured a special moment $clipurl.” This message will display the username of the clip creator.

Optional Steps

If you want to create a stream marker with every clip command for better organization:

  1. Stream Marker Action:
    • In the “Actions” dropdown, select “Stream Marker.”

This will help you easily find clipped moments in your VODs for further adjustments.

Save and Finish

  1. Save Your Settings:
    • After configuring all the options, click “Save” to save your Clip Command settings.
