Tutorial: How to Create a Patreon Join Alert with Mixitup
In this tutorial, we’ll guide you through the process of setting up an alert in Mixitup to thank users in chat when they join a tier on your Patreon. Follow these steps to seamlessly integrate Patreon alerts into your live stream.
1. Download, Install, and Setup Mixitup: Start by downloading Mixitup and completing the installation process. If you haven’t already set up Mixitup, ensure that it’s properly configured for your streaming needs.
2. Set Up Your Patreon Account: Open your web browser and go to www.patreon.com. Make sure your Patreon account is set up and that you have created the desired tiers for your supporters.
3. Add the Patreon Service to Mixitup:
- Click on the Menu Icon in the upper left-hand corner of Mixitup.
- Navigate to “Services” and click on it.
- Click “Login for Patreon” and follow the prompts to connect your Patreon account.
4. Select the Target Tier:
- In the Patreon settings, choose the specific tier for which you want to create the alert. If you only have one tier, this step is straightforward.
5. Back in Mixitup: Create the Event Alert:
- Click on the menu icon in the upper left-hand corner.
- Go to “Events” and find “Patreon > Patreon Subscribed,” then click “Add New Command.”

- In the action dropdown, select “Add Chat Message” and press the plus icon to add a new message.
- Craft a personalized message, such as “$username has joined the Patreon!” The variable $username will display the username used by the subscriber.
