Tutorial: Setting Up Vertical Clips with Aitum Vertical Plugin and Mixitup

Introduction

Efficiently save time by directly clipping vertical content within OBS using the Mixitup and Aitum Vertical Plugin.

1. Download, Install, and Setup OBS:

• Begin by downloading OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) from the official website.
• Install OBS on your computer and follow the setup instructions.

2. Download, Install, and Setup Aitum Vertical Plugin:

• Locate the Aitum Vertical Plugin online and download it to your computer.
• Install the plugin and configure the necessary settings in OBS.

3. Download, Install, and Setup Mixitup:

• Visit the Mixitup website and download the application.
• Install Mixitup on your computer and complete the setup process.

Setting the Location for Saved Video Clips in OBS:

• Open OBS and click on “Settings.”
• Navigate to the “Output” section.
• If using Output Mode Advanced, proceed with the following steps:
  • Click on the “Recording” tab.
  • Set the location for saving clips.
  • Choose the preferred File Recording Format (e.g., mkv).
  • Optionally, enable automatic remuxing to mp4 in “Settings > Advanced > Automatically remux to mp4.”
  • Make sure to click the Backtrack button on Aitum Vertical dock – you can automatically do this if you start the Vertical Plugins Virtual Camera.

Setting Hotkeys in OBS:

• Access OBS Settings.
• Go to “Hotkeys.”
• Locate “Vertical BackTrack Save Replay.”
• Set a hotkey (e.g., CTRL + ALT + 1) for saving clips to the designated location.

Loading Mixitup and Configuring Commands:

• Launch Mixitup and log in to your account.
• Click the menu icon in the upper left-hand corner.
• Choose “Commands.”

• If you already have a clip command, click “Edit.” Otherwise, create a new clip command.
• For the action, select “Input (keyboard and mouse).”
• Click the plus icon to add a new action.
• Choose “Keyboard” as the type.
• Specify the Keyboard Key (e.g., Num Pad 1).
• Select “Click” for the action.
• Toggle the Control and Alt keys or the keys used in OBS hotkeys.
• Click “Save.”

Automating Vertical Clips with Mixitup:

Now, whenever someone uses the designated command (e.g., !clip), Mixitup will automatically create a vertical format clip using the specified hotkey and save it to the designated location.
