Tutorial: How to Create a “Going Live” Notification in Discord using Mixitup Bot

Before you get started:

  1. Install and Launch Mixitup Bot.
  2. Sign in to your Twitch account.
  3. Connect your Discord server to Mixitup.

Connecting Discord:

  • Click on the menu button located in the upper left-hand corner.
  • Find and click on “Services.”
  • Click on “Login” for “Discord.”
  • Connect your Discord server and follow the on-screen prompts.

Creating the Notification:

  • Click on the menu button in the upper left-hand corner.
  • Find and click on “Events.”
  • Click “Add Command” for “When Stream Starts” under Twitch.
  • Under the Action Command, find and select “Discord” and click the plus button.
  • Choose “Send Message.”
  • For “Select Channel,” type something creative and attention-catching like:

“I am live over on Twitch! We’re currently playing $streamgame. Join the stream: $streameruserurl Stream Title: $userstreamtitle. See you there!”

  • Here’s a breakdown of the variables:
    • $streamgame: Displays the game category you’re currently playing.
    • $streameruserurl: Provides a link to your Twitch stream.
    • $userstreamtitle: Shows the title of your stream.
  • You can use “$linebreak” to insert a new line between these elements for better formatting (optional but recommended to avoid a long, cluttered message).
  • Finally, click the save icon to save your notification.

With these steps, you’ll have created an engaging “Going Live” notification in your Discord server using Mixitup Bot, effectively letting your community know when your stream starts on Twitch.
