Tutorial: Creating a Giveaway using Currency in Mixitup

Step 1: Install and Setup Mixitup

Begin by installing and setting up Mixitup on your channel.

Step 2: Creating the Currency

To enable channel point redemption, follow these steps to create a virtual currency:

1. Open MIXITUP and click on “Currency/Rank/Inventory.”
2. Click “Add Currency/Rank.”
3. Name your Currency/Rank (e.g., “Daily Points”).
4. Click “Save” to create your currency.

Adjust these settings to fit your community.

Step 3: Download, Install, and Set Up Mixitup:

1. Access the menu button in the upper left-hand corner.
2. Locate and click on “Giveaway.”

Step 4: Configure Giveaway Settings:

• Giveaway Item: Name your giveaway (e.g., “Steam Gift Card”).
• Command: Set the command (e.g., !giveaway).
• Total Time in Minutes: Specify the duration of the giveaway (e.g., 15 for 15 minutes).
• Reminder Interval: Choose how often the bot sends reminders.
• Max Entries: Define the maximum entries per person.

Additional Configuration:

• Toggle “Require !claim” and “Allow Past Winners” as per your preference.
• Optionally, modify usage requirements like VIPS, cooldowns, currency, and required users.

Step 5: Using Currency for Giveaway – Rewarding Audience Members:

1. Under usage requirements, click the Dollar Icon (Currency Icon).
2. Click Add Currency.
3. In the drop-down, select the Currency you created earlier.
4. In the Usage drop-down, select Required Amount.
5. Specify the amount for audience members to use (e.g., 10).

Step 6: Star/Reminder Message:

1. Click “Edit.”
2. Customize the message creatively, including special identifiers.
3. Example: “A giveaway has started for $giveawayitem! Type $giveawaycommand in chat in the next $giveawaytimelimit minute(s) to enter!”
4. Click “Save.”

Step 7: User Joined Message:

1. Create a welcoming message for users joining the giveaway.
2. Click “Add” in the action dropdown.
3. Choose “Chat Message” and use the plus icon to add it to the command.
4. Sample: “$username joined the giveaway for $giveawayitem!”
5. Click “Save.”

Step 8: Users Won Message:

1. Click the edit icon.
2. Personalize the winning message.
3. Example: “Congratulations @$username, you won $giveawayitem!”
4. Ensure special identifiers are preserved.
5. Click “Save.”
