Tutorial: How to Create Walk-on Alerts for Your Viewers in OBS with Mixitup Bot

Prerequisites:

  • OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) installed
  • Mixitup Bot installed
  • Logged in to your Twitch account

In this tutorial, we’ll guide you through the process of creating walk-on alerts for your viewers using OBS and Mixitup Bot. Walk-on alerts add a personal touch to your streams and engage your audience. You’ll be able to customize messages, sounds, shoutouts, and more for each of your viewers. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Ensure Mixitup is Running

Before you can create walk-on alerts, make sure Mixitup is actively running during your streams. This will allow it to log users in your chat, which is essential for creating personalized alerts.

Step 2: Access Mixitup Bot

  1. Open OBS and look for the menu tab, which is often represented by three lines or a hamburger icon. Click on it to reveal the menu options.
  2. In the menu, locate and click on “Users.” This will take you to the user management section in Mixitup Bot.

Step 3: Find the User for Your Walk-on Alert

  1. In the Users section, use the search feature to find the specific user for whom you want to create a walk-on alert. This user could be a regular viewer, moderator (MOD), VIP, or anyone you’d like to engage with.
  2. Once you’ve found the user, click on the “Edit” button associated with their profile. This will allow you to customize their walk-on alert.

Step 4: Customize the Entrance Command

  1. Scroll down to the “Custom Entrance Command” section. This is where you’ll define the specific actions and messages for the walk-on alert.
  2. Click on the “Add Command” button to begin customizing the alert.

Step 5: Customize the Alert

  1. In the customization options, you can get creative and choose various types of alerts, such as “Chat Message,” “Sound,” “Shoutout,” and more. For this tutorial, we’ll focus on “Chat Message.”
  2. In the dropdown menu, select “Chat Message,” and click the “+” button to add it to the alert list.
  3. In the “Chat Message” field, type the message you want to display when this user enters your stream. You can make this message unique for the user, or even use shoutout commands like !so @username.
  4. Once you’re satisfied with your customization, click the “SAVE” icon to save the walk-on alert.

Step 6: Repeat for Other Users

To create walk-on alerts for additional users, repeat the process from Step 3 onwards. This is a great way to engage with your audience, giving each of them a unique experience during your streams. Consider creating alerts for your MODs, VIPs, or any viewers you’d like to acknowledge.

By following these steps, you can enhance the interaction and engagement with your viewers in a personalized and memorable way. Let your creativity shine and make your streams more enjoyable for everyone!
