Adding Extra Life Alerts to MixItUp: A Step-by-Step Guide

Download, Install, and Setup MixitUp

To begin, we need to gather some essential information and integrate Extra Life into MixitUp. The first requirement is your Extra Life participation ID, obtainable by logging into your Extra Life Dashboard at www.extra-life.org.

1. Log into your Extra Life Dashboard.
2. Click on “Your Page.”
3. Your participation ID will be at the end of the address bar. Take note of this number; it will be needed in the next step.

Now, let’s set up MixItUp:

1. Open MixItUp.
2. Click on the Menu Icon in the upper-left corner.
3. Select “Services.”
4. Find “DonorDrive” in the list of services.
5. In the dropdown, locate “Extra Life” among the charities.
6. In the “Participation/ID” field, enter the participation ID obtained earlier.
7. Optionally, activate the “Include Team Donation” toggle to receive alerts from your team.

Congratulations! You’ve completed the setup. Now, let’s create alerts for your chat:

1. Click the menu icon in the upper left.
2. Select “Events.”
3. Find “Donations.” You will see events for DonorDrive.
4. Click “Add Command For DonorDrive Donation.”
5. Click “Add Command.”
6. Find and click “Chat Message,” then click the plus icon to add the command.

Example Chat Message: “A $donationamount donation has been received from $username from $donationsource.”

• $donationamount: The donated amount.
• $username: The donor’s name (optional, as it may reveal real names).
• $donationsource: The source, in this case, “EXTRALIFE.”

If satisfied, proceed to the second chat message:

1. In the dropdown, select “Chat Message” and add it to the command.
2. In the message field: “$username included the following message: $donationmessage.”
   • $username: The ExtraLife donor.
   • $donationmessage: The message they entered during the donation.

While using two commands may enhance visibility, you can choose to combine them into one for simplicity. Be creative and find a message that represents your brand. Click “Save” to complete the setup.

Setting Up Additional Event Alerts:

Donor Drive Incentive:

1. Click “Add Command.”
2. Find and click “Add New Chat Message.”
3. For the chat message: “$username activated $donordriveincentivedescription.”
   • $username: The donor.
   • $donordriveincentivedescription: The incentive description.
4. Click “Save.”

Donor Drive Donation Milestone:

1. Click “Add Command.”
2. Find and click “Chat Message.”
3. For the chat message: “ALERT! ALERT We have achieved this Milestone $donordrivemilestonedescription.”
   • $donordrivemilestonedescription: The milestone achieved.
4. Click “Save.”

You’ve now successfully set up Extra Life alerts and additional event alerts in MixItUp.
