Tutorial: How to Create an Event Triggered at a Specific Local Time using Mixitup
Step 1: Download, Install, and Setup Mixitup
Ensure you have Mixitup installed on your system and set up.
Step 2: Open Mixitup
Launch Mixitup on your computer.
Step 3: Access Timers Menu
Click on the menu icon located in the upper right-hand corner of the Mixitup interface.
Step 4: Create a New Timer
Within the Timers menu, select “Create New Timer.”
Step 5: Configure the New Timer
Provide a name for your timer, such as “Alarm Timer.” Assign it to a group by entering “Alarm Timer” in the Group Name field. Choose a suitable Group Interval; for example, you can set it to 15 minutes.
Step 6: Set Timer Conditions
In the action dropdown, select “Conditional.” Specify the first value as $time
, keep the comparison as ‘=’, and set the second value to your desired local time, e.g., “10:00 PM.”
Mixitup will now check the timer every 15 minutes, and if the local time matches the specified time (10:00 PM in this case), it will trigger an action.
Step 7: Define Actions within the Conditional Command
- Choose “Chat Message” from the action dropdown and add a message. For instance:”It is now 10 PM CST; it’s time to hydrate! Let’s take a pause to stretch and take a deep breath.”
- Choose “Sound” within the conditional command and press the plus icon.
- Set the action as “Play Sound.”
- Specify the sound file path. You can find various sound options on myinstants.com.
- Adjust the volume to your preference, ensuring it’s neither too loud nor too quiet.
- Click the play icon to preview the sound.
- Click Save to save your settings.
Step 8: Finalize and Save
Mixitup is now configured to check the timer every 15 minutes. If it is 10:00 PM CST, it will execute the specified actions, including displaying a chat message and playing a sound.
By following these steps, you’ve successfully created an event in Mixitup triggered at a specific local time. Feel free to customize the actions according to your preferences and needs.
