Tutorial: How to Use Twitch’s Stream Together Feature for Collaborative Streaming

Introduction

Welcome to the Stream Together tutorial, a fantastic feature that allows Twitch streamers to collaborate seamlessly with others, bringing a new level of entertainment to your audience. Whether you’re a seasoned streamer or just starting out, Stream Together can enhance your streaming experience by allowing you to co-stream with up to 5 other streamers simultaneously. In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through the setup process and guide you on how to make the most of this exciting feature.

How It Works

1. Unique Browser Source Links

Each Twitch streamer has their own unique, private browser source links, accessible in the settings area of their channel. These links are used to send Stream Together video feeds to streaming software like OBS or StreamLabs. All collaborators use their own links to co-stream the call’s content on their respective channels.

2. Joining a Session

When you join or host a Stream Together session, your unique browser source links automatically receive the video feed(s) of the call you are connected to. Connect these links to your streaming software scene, and you’ll be ready to co-stream in the future with the same scene.

Setup

Step 1: Enable Stream Together in Settings

If you’re new to Stream Together, check out our “Getting Started with Stream Together” article. As a beta user, find the Browser Sources tab in your Settings menu, where you can access your unique browser source links. Stream Together will be defaulted to enabled, but you can disable it for individual guests or all guests.

Step 2: Inviting Guests

When inviting guests, a new icon next to their name indicates Stream Together compatibility. You can disable it for individual guests or all guests using the Stream Together icon. Manage your collaborations seamlessly through this feature.

Step 3: Managing Co-Streaming Access in the Call

Maintain control of your call at all times. You can disable functionality for guests by clicking the Stream Together icon. Guests lose access to the feed(s) and your call won’t be shown on their channel, but they remain guests in your call. You can re-enable access at any time.

Step 4: The Benefits of Streaming Together Live

Collaborations enhance audience reach and growth. Stream Together facilitates easier discovery and following of collaborating streamers. Co-streamer channel pages tag live participants, making it simple for viewers to discover and follow everyone involved. Twitch’s left navigation bar showcases collaborations, providing additional visibility.

As Stream Together evolves during the beta stage, anticipate even more growth and discovery features to be released.

Get ready to take your streaming experience to the next level with Stream Together!
