Tutorial: Creating Alerts Using Overlay Action in Mixitup

Part 1: Setting Up Mixitup Bot and OBS

1. Install Mixitup Bot:
   • Download and install Mixitup Bot.
   • Set up the bot with your Twitch credentials.
2. Install and Configure OBS:
   • Download and install OBS Studio.
   • Configure OBS according to your preferences.
3. Access Events in OBS:
   • Open OBS Studio.
   • Click on the menu icon in the upper left-hand corner.
   • Select “Events” from the dropdown.

Part 2: Creating Alerts

Text Alerts:

1. In the action dropdown, select “Overlay (Images & Video)” and click the plus icon.
2. Choose “Text” in the action menu.
3. Use the Text Field creatively, using variables like $displayusername.
4. Select Font Color, Font Name, and optionally, add a shadow.
5. Define the Font Size and Screen Position.
6. Set the Duration, Entrance, Exit, and Visible Animations.
7. Click “Save.”

Image Alerts:

1. Select “Image” in the action dropdown.
2. Specify the Image File Path.
3. Optionally, set Width and Height (leave as 0 for default size).
4. Choose Screen Position.
5. Set the Duration, Entrance, Exit, and Visible Animations.
6. Click “Save.”

Sound Alerts:

1. In the action dropdown, click “Sounds.”
2. Choose “Play Sound” in the action menu.
3. Specify the Sound File Path (check www.myinstants.com for free sounds).
4. Choose the Audio Output Device.
5. Adjust the Volume, test with the play icon, and click “Save.”

Chat Message Alerts:

1. In the action dropdown, select “Chat Message.”
2. Craft a creative message using variables like $username. Example: “Thank you $username for the Follow.”
3. Click “Save.”

Part 3: Adding Overlay to OBS

1. In Mixitup, click on the settings gear in the upper right-hand corner.
2. Select “Overlay.”
3. Copy the main overlay browser source.
4. In OBS:
   • Click the Plus icon on the sources dock.
   • Select “Add Browser Source.”
   • Paste the browser source from Mixitup Bot.
   • Resize to fit your canvas resolution.

Now, you’ve successfully set up Twitch alerts using Mixitup and OBS. Test each alert to ensure they work as intended, and make adjustments as needed.
