Tutorial: Setting Up Daily Check-In Channel Point Redemption in MIXITUP

In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through the steps to create a daily check-in channel point redemption in MIXITUP for your Twitch channel. Channel point redemptions can help engage your viewers and reward them for their participation.

Pre-Requisites

Before you get started, make sure you have the following pre-requisites in place:

1. MIXITUP : Ensure that MIXITUP is installed and set up for your Twitch channel.
2. Twitch Account: Log in to your Twitch account within MIXITUP for seamless integration.

Step 1: Creating the Currency

To enable channel point redemptions, you first need to create a virtual currency that viewers can use for their redemptions.

1. Open MIXITUP BOT and click on “Currency/Rank/Inventory.”
2. Next, click on “Add Currency/Rank.”
3. Name your Currency/Rank. For this tutorial, let’s call it “Daily Points,” but feel free to be creative and choose a name that suits your community.
4. Click “Save” to create your currency.

Step 2: Creating the Channel Point Redemption

Now, let’s set up the channel point redemption itself.

1. Click on the menu button in MIXITUP BOT.
2. Select “Twitch Channel Points.”
3. Click “Create New Channel Point Reward.”
4. Give your Channel Point Reward a name, like “Daily Check-In.” Customize it to fit your community’s theme. For example, I called mine “Daily XP.”
5. MIXITUP BOT will confirm the creation of your channel point reward. To fully configure it, head to your Twitch Dashboard and edit the reward, specifying its cost, color, icon, and other details. Make sure to only allow one (1) redeem per day per person.

Step 3: Editing the Channel Point Redemption in MIXITUP BOT

1. In MIXITUP BOT, find your newly created Channel Point Reward and click on the edit icon.
2. Now, we’ll set up actions for this reward. For a daily check-in, you can customize the chat messages to suit your channel’s style.
3. Under “Actions,” click “Add Chat Message” and type a message like:

$username has redeemed their Daily Check-In! Thank you for checking in and collecting your XP! :)

Next, under “Actions,” click “Add Consumables.”

In the consumables dropdown, select the consumable you created earlier.

In the action dropdown, choose “Add to user.”

Specify the amount you’d like to add to users. For this example, we’ll keep it simple with 1.

Under “Actions,” add another chat message:

1. $username now has $targetuserXP daily XP! Be sure to come back every stream to collect your XP! :) Note: The $targetuserXP variable should be replaced with the identifier you assigned to your consumable. You can find this information in the Consumables tab in MIXITUP BOT.
2. Finally, click “Save” to apply your changes.

That’s it! You’ve successfully set up a daily check-in channel point redemption in MIXITUP BOT. Your viewers can now earn and redeem their daily points, enhancing the interaction and engagement on your Twitch channel. Be sure to personalize the messages and rewards to create a unique experience for your community.
