Tutorial: Creating Bit Alerts with MixItUp on Twitch

Step 1: Download, Install, and Setup MixItUp

Begin by downloading MixItUp from the official website and follow the installation instructions to set it up on your streaming platform.

Step 2: Access Twitch Bits Commands

  • Open MixItUp and locate the Menu in the upper left-hand corner.
  • Click on “Twitch Bits” in the menu.
  • Choose “Add New Command” to start configuring your bit alerts.

Step 3: Create a Command for a Specific Bit Amount

  • For the command Name, keep it simple. In this example, name it after the amount of bits you want the alert for, like “100 Bits.”
  • Under Action, select “Chat Message” and click the plus icon.

Step 4: Customize Chat Message

  • Be creative with your chat message to reflect your style and engage your community.
  • Example: “Thank you $username for the 100 Bits!”[$username will dynamically mention the person who made the bit purchase.]

Optional Steps for Sound Alerts:

Step 5: Add Sound Alerts (Optional)

  • If you want a sound accompanying the bit alert, select “Sound” under Action and click the plus icon.
  • Keep the action as “Play Sound.”
  • Specify the Sound File Path, finding a suitable sound file (we recommend MyInstants.com).
  • Choose the output for sound to play through (e.g., Elgato Wavelink, Steel Series Sonar).
  • Adjust the volume using the play icon to ensure it suits your preferences.
  • Click “Save” to confirm your sound settings.

Step 6: Repeat for Different Bit Amounts

  • Repeat the entire process for different bit amounts to have specific triggers for each.

Step 7: Set Up Bit Ranges (Optional)

  • If you want bit alerts within a range (e.g., 0-100, 101-200), toggle “Number Range” in the Twitch Bits menu.
  • Specify the range (e.g., 1-100).
  • Repeat the steps above for specific chat messages and/or sounds within this range.

By following these steps, you’ll successfully create engaging and personalized bit alerts for your Twitch channel using MixItUp.
