How to use Elgato EpocCam for Twitch streaming

Prerequisites:

  • A computer with OBS Studio installed
  • An iPhone or iPad with the EpocCam app installed
  • A Wi-Fi network or a Lightning to USB cable

Instructions:

  1. Download and install EpocCam on your iPhone or iPad. You can download EpocCam for free from the App Store, but the free version has some limitations, such as a lower resolution and a watermark. If you want to stream in full HD or without the watermark, you’ll need to purchase the paid version.
  2. Download and install OBS Studio on your computer. OBS Studio is a free and open-source live streaming and video recording software application.
  3. Connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer. You can connect your device wirelessly through Wi-Fi or with a Lightning to USB cable.
  4. Open EpocCam on your device.
  5. Open OBS Studio on your computer.
  6. In OBS Studio, click the “+” button in the Sources section and select Video Capture Device.
  7. In the Device drop-down menu, select EpocCam.
  8. Click OK to add EpocCam as a source.
  9. You should now see a preview of your device’s camera in OBS Studio.
  10. To start streaming, click the Start Streaming button in the bottom right corner of OBS Studio.

Tips:

  • You can adjust the resolution and other settings for EpocCam in the app’s settings menu.
  • If you’re using a Lightning to USB cable, make sure that it’s properly rated to send and receive data. Some inexpensive cables are for charging only and will not work with EpocCam.
  • If you’re experiencing lag or other problems, try restarting your devices or connecting to a different Wi-Fi network.

Once you’ve followed these steps, you should be able to start streaming your iPhone or iPad’s camera to Twitch using EpocCam.
