How to use DroidCam for a webcam in OBS for a Twitch streamer

Prerequisites:

  • A computer with OBS Studio installed
  • An Android phone with the DroidCam app installed
  • A Wi-Fi network or a USB cable

Instructions:

  1. Download and install DroidCam on your Android phone. You can download DroidCam for free from the Google Play Store, but the free version has some limitations, such as a lower resolution and a watermark. If you want to stream in full HD or without the watermark, you’ll need to purchase the paid version.
  2. Download and install OBS Studio on your computer. OBS Studio is a free and open-source live streaming and video recording software application.
  3. Connect your Android phone to your computer. You can connect your device wirelessly through Wi-Fi or with a USB cable.
  4. Open DroidCam on your phone.
  5. Open OBS Studio on your computer.
  6. In OBS Studio, click the “+” button in the Sources section and select Video Capture Device.
  7. In the Device drop-down menu, select DroidCam.
  8. Click OK to add DroidCam as a source.
  9. You should now see a preview of your device’s camera in OBS Studio.
  10. To start streaming, click the Start Streaming button in the bottom right corner of OBS Studio.

Tips:

  • You can adjust the resolution and other settings for DroidCam in the app’s settings menu.
  • If you’re using a USB cable, make sure that it’s properly rated to send and receive data. Some inexpensive cables are for charging only and will not work with DroidCam.
  • If you’re experiencing lag or other problems, try restarting your devices or connecting to a different Wi-Fi network.
  • If you are using the free version of DroidCam, there will be a watermark on your stream. To remove the watermark, you will need to purchase the paid version.

Once you’ve followed these steps, you should be able to start streaming your Android phone’s camera to Twitch using DroidCam.

Here are some additional tips for using DroidCam for Twitch streaming:

  • If you are using a Wi-Fi connection, make sure that your phone and computer are on the same network.
  • If you are experiencing lag, try reducing the resolution or frame rate of your stream.
  • You can use DroidCam to stream both your front and rear cameras. To switch cameras, simply click on the camera icon in the DroidCam app.
  • You can also use DroidCam to stream audio from your phone. To do this, simply enable the “Audio” option in the DroidCam app.

I hope this tutorial has been helpful. Happy streaming!
