How to Make a Scene in OBS

To make a Scene in OBS, follow these steps:

  1. Open OBS Studio.
  2. Click the “+” icon below the Scenes list.
  3. Enter a name for your new scene in the dialogue box that appears and click OK.
  4. To add a source to your scene, click the “+” icon below the Sources list and select the desired source type.

Some common source types include:

  • Video Capture Device: This source captures video from a webcam or other video capture device.
  • Game Capture: This source captures video from a running game.
  • Image: This source displays an image file.
  • Text: This source displays text.
  • Media Source: This source plays a media file, such as a video or audio clip.

Once you have added a source to your scene, you can adjust its position and size by dragging and resizing it in the preview window.

To create a more complex scene, you can add multiple sources and layer them on top of each other. For example, you could add a background image, a webcam source, a game capture source, and a text overlay.

You can also use OBS’s built-in filters and effects to customize your scenes. For example, you could add a green screen filter to remove your background or a color correction filter to adjust the colors in your scene.

Once you are happy with your scene, you can save it by clicking the Save Scenes button in the top toolbar.

To switch to a different scene during your broadcast or recording, simply click the name of the scene in the Scenes list.

Here are some tips for creating effective scenes in OBS:

  • Use high-quality images and videos.
  • Keep your scenes simple and uncluttered.
  • Use consistent branding and colors throughout your scenes.
  • Use transitions to switch between scenes smoothly.
  • Test your scenes before going live or recording to make sure they look and work as expected.

Here are some examples of common scenes that you might use in OBS:

  • Intro scene: This scene is used to introduce yourself and your stream to your viewers.
  • Gaming scene: This scene is used to display your gameplay.
  • Intermission scene: This scene is used to take a break from your stream without going offline.
  • Be Right Back (BRB) scene: This scene is used to let your viewers know that you will be back soon.
  • Outro scene: This scene is used to say goodbye to your viewers at the end of your stream.

You can create as many scenes as you need for your broadcast or recording. You can also create different scenes for different types of content, such as gaming, chatting, or creating tutorials.
